Bonjour,

Sandy I thought we needed a break and headed south to the hills (French Pyrenees) for a week.

The Pyrenees mountains are stunning with very quaint villages nice food and cold beer.

We stumbled across a village that had life size puppets (see photos) standing, sitting and hanging from most buildings in the village. We drove up to the top of Tourmalet,. Man, I have maximum respect for the Tour de France cyclists that have to cycle over this mountain!!

We visited an Eagle sanctuary with a stunning display. This area has a number of ski resorts and I am sure we will be back to take the kamikaze run down the slopes in winter.

Highlight of the trip was the new friendships we made with two stunning couples Tim & Lin and Paul & Helen.

Au revoir
